Obsessive Compulsive Disorder & Disorder

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of the most common psychiatric and psychological disorders in the United States. Over 2% of adults have the symptoms of OCD. Despite it’s prevalence we still don’t know exactly what causes it. The good news is that the majority of sufferers get better and stay better. For some the disorder disappears. For others OCD becomes an unobtrusive condition which is kept under control with treatment and self care. The self care regimen often includes practicing DBT skills. These skills help them remain resilient in the face of stress, remain free of worrisome thoughts, and form fulfilling, positive relationships.
